Lavaca County was formed by The State Of Texas in 1846. Hallettesville became the county seat in 1852...Through the years, several buildings and locations had been used for the business of the county. The Commissioners Court of 1897 voted on March 8th to erect a new building... The contract for construction was let in June of that year. The present building was completed in May, 1899 and was dedicated July 4, 1899... The courthouse is shown in this painting 100 years later, still serving the communities of Lavaca County which includes the cities of Moulton, Shiner, Yoakum... To celebrate the Centennial of this historic courthouse, this Commemorative print will be available to all Windberg collectors. |
