For many years, pilot Bill Wincapaw dropped holiday
gifts to some lonely
lighthouse keepers, whose beacons he had followed to safety one foggy night
during the week before Christmas in 1929. "This true tale's still told,"
the artist
rhymes, "though the years pass by swift-a grateful pilot, a 'Flying Santa',
and
"The Lightkeeper's Gift."
