A cowboy's day often begins
before dawn and ends long after
the sun is down. I was fortunate to participate in herding
the Texas Longhorns across the Nueces River in West Central
Texas as a full moon began to illuminate the evening sky.
We located a shallow area to cross the river and soon had the
cattle penned for the night. We successfully ended a long
days work under the big Texas moon beside a roaring
campfire supper after "Crossing the Nueces."
