Tom's dazzling new creation is "...and wise men came bearing
gifts," the
first of four prints which will embody the Story of the First Christmas. In creating this
painting of the three wise men as they approach Bethlehem, duBois researched the countryside
and
created the costuming himself. One hot and humid summer afternoon, he patiently
photographed camels for hours, decorating each with an amazing array of silks, tapestries
and tassels, while a costumed friend perched precariously atop each animal. His
tireless research, his attention to detail and his unequaled creativity have again combined perfectly,
and the artistic result is the opulent and beautiful "...and wise men came
bearing
gifts." |
