A new work of art from Bev Doolittle is always a much-anticipated
event.  Now, collectors have the opportunity to acquire The Earth Is
My Mother Collector's Edition, a creation years in the making.  This
richly imaginative print and book combination is being offered in
advance of the book's trade publication in spring 2000. The limited
edition fine art print is the only way collectors will be able to enjoy
this namesake image. In fact, it does not even appear as a "whole"
in the book. Furthermore, The Earth Is My Mother is one of Doolittle's
most limited editions.

The book The Earth Is My Mother is destined to be a family classic.
Based on a story created by the artist and her husband, and written
by long-time collaborator Elise Maclay, this remarkable novel takes
the reader on the "vision quest" of an 11-year-old girl named Sarah
who seeks to prevent the development of an untouched desert canyon.
With the aid of a Native American guide, Sarah takes photographs -
actually Doolittle's watercolor images - documenting her exploration
of the canyon and other wilderness regions.  When her journey ends,
Sarah fears she has failed her mission.  But a magazine art director
who sees the photos finds that when they are arranged in a unique
way, they form a breathtaking new image- a portrait of Mother Earth
that, when placed on the magazine cover, compels a national
outpouring of support.  In addition to the 16 exquisite watercolor
pieces, the book is lavishly illustrated with more than 55 intricate
pencil drawings.

The Book:  signed by the artist, contains a folded insert (approx.
9" x 11") with the 16 images printed out of order.  These can be cut
out and arranged to reveal The Earth Is My Mother.  Hardcover with
gold stamping. Size: 7" x 9": 176 pages
