Chuck DeHaan's paintings are
noted for their exceptional portrayals of the West... It's
unique beauty and history, and the proud spirit of it's
people. His approach to painting is a natural outgrowth
of his own experiences. As an accomplished rodeo rider,
rancher, and cutting horse trainer, this multifaceted
man has successfully intertwined the threads of art and
ranching throughout much of his adult life. Following

I first painted "Sellin' Ol' Yellar" in 1967 for Potts Longhorn Leather Co. It was
the cover for their Saddlery Catalog. They also used it for promotional prints.
Through the years it has been featured in many ways. For over 30 years I've had
many phone calls from folks trying to find a copy of that print. Well, not being able
to help them we decoded to paint it again. That being the case, we knew Ol' Yellar
must not have stayed sold. So we're selling him again. The time is still set in the
50's, and my good friend and horseman Dale Robertson showed up at the sale.
